Spy Visit

When we went to spy I didn’t think much about it. I saw the website and I thought that it was a house. I thought that it was just a small building like beyond pix. As we got closer to the building I found out that it was indeed a small building. From looking at the website I had a feeling that everyone knew each other and were good friends. I liked their home feeling of the environment it makes me feel like home. As we walked around we got to meet the workers and they are all nice and seem like the type to always have fun and just be nice to have around. I like how they party when they finish a big project.

As our visit went on we learned why it was like a house. They have clients who stay there over night and want them to feel comfortable. We walked around and their building it bigger than we thought. There is multiple floors with different machines. We got to play with the Da Vinci which was a machine that fixed the color or the video. We learned how the color of the video changes the mood and the whole vibe of the video. After everything I learned that you have to love what you do because you are there a long time and you have to make friends with your co workers. Personality I liked going there i just wish that we got to do more hands on things and try out the equipment.

Career Exploration Beyond Pix

Before the career exploration visit, I didn’t really know what Beyond Pix was or what they did. I thought that it was going to be big studio with lots and lots of people running around and doing multiple things at once. I thought there would be people on the computer looking for projects to tell other people what they were to do next. Also, I thought there would be lots of Beyond Pix vans rolling around the city filming. One thing that I was looking forward to seeing were the characters from Cars but Beyond Pix just helped make the advertisements. I also thought that there was going to be a very fast paced atmosphere and everyone in a rush to get from place to place.

Now that we went to Beyond Pix I know what they do and how they work. Everything that I thought was totally wrong. It wasn’t even a news casting studio just help produce shows. It was very calm and it looked like all the employees liked their jobs and had fun being there. When they told us that they only had 22 employees total, I was shocked and I guess it’s not like the movies. The studio that Beyond Pix was at was not even big. But one of my predictions did turn out right, it was that everybody needs someone else or the project won’t get done. I liked how one of the employees made or helped make almost everything there. The other thing I liked was when they put people side by side on T.V. and they are from different states, and how they make them talk to each other from across the country. Those were my thoughts and what I learned at Beyond Pix.

Berkeley

My Berkeley expectations were very high knowing that they are one of the best colleges in the state. The first thing that I noticed was that everybody was going to be in class and that no one was going to be out of class. The thing that surprised me the most was that it was the total opposite! There were people just hanging out and having a good time. I thought it was going to be like high school just that you live at school. I was thinking that everybody was going to have class all at the same time and had lunch at the same time. But it seemed like it wasn’t even a school just a hang out spot.

I found out that you could take a class the whole year or semester and never meet the teacher, and that they don’t even know your name. The thing that got me most fascinated was that students could teach other students and still get credit for it like it’s a regular class. I thought that was like the coolest thing ever. That all the teachers’ stay in one big building. Another thing that was interesting to me was that there were elements on the periodic table that was founded on the Berkeley campus. I love how there were under ground tunnels full of books it was just so unexpected.

I glad that we went there because it opened my eyes to the fact that it is possible. How you don’t have to be the smartest person or the most popular person at your high school to get into college because you basically start over. While I was there some of my expectation was fulfilled and some were made. Now that I saw everything there I would expect all the other colleges to be like that or even better. There were a lot of things that surprised me and bored me.

First Semester in this class

My first semester was pretty fun in here. I got to learn how to use photoshop and how to make ugly pictures beautiful. i learned how to make old pictures look new and totally transform them. I think our first project was the triptych and that was pretty amazing on how you can do all of that with just one program. Then we worked on our Hoof project (History of our Family’s) We had at least 4 months to work on it and most of us waited till the last minute or like a month before to really start. i Had fun recording and seeing pictures of my family that I never knew about. As I am talking about pictures I had the besrerest time taking pictures and how to make them look like a pro took them. How to use the sun and the angle of the camera to get the best of my shot. Now we are working on a program called “Bryce”<—thats a boy name =] It is SO cool and dope! i get to my own creator of my our little world.

These pictures are of Zach Asuncion, Britanny Castillo, and Chrystal Fumar. I didn’t take all of these only one. Well to start off i had to duplicate the pictures just in case I messed up or don’t like it. After that I went into filter and messed around a little with that and at the end up just blur it. Then I Overlayed it to make i glow and pop out more. If i didn’t blur it then i used the noise filter and masked out the parts that I wanted to be clear. After I was done with all of that I used the clone stamp to Fix all kinds of things from hairlines and bangs. Another thing it that I took leaves, trash, and other things that are not necessary and don’t look right. That is basically what I did to these pictures.

What I am thankful for is Britanny Castillo. I am thankful for her because she is a big impact on my life and in school work. Another thing is that she is always there for me. That is who I am thankful for today !

Today I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for them because they will always be there when I need them. I can always depend on them when I need to. We may have our ups and downs but I love them! and I am thankful for all of them still alive and healthy!

Today I am thankful for fingers and toes! I say that because if I didn’t have any I couldn’t do most things that I do now. Like writing, picking up things and mostly typing this thankful letter. Also pushing the buttons on my phone to call Britanny. Other than fingers toes are the same without them I can’t walk or pinch people with toes. I LOVE MY FINGERS AND TOES!

Today is thanksgiving and I am thankful for Bart. Because without Bart I wouldn’t be able to see my family in Hayward. I would always have to wait for my brothers to take me and my lazy cousins wont pick me me. Another thing is that I could just relax and listen to my music while i’m on my way to where ever.Happy Thanksgiving! =]

This time instead of using photoshop we used garage band. We got to choose and beat and mix them together to make new ones. after that we had to make mixes to fit the titles of our songs. making beats and songs is fun!
